Hiker on top of Bald Knob

Hiker on top of Bald Knob

The Wilderness Conservancy At Mountain Lake maintains over 20 miles of hiking and mountain biking trails; a favorite way to explore the 2,600 acres of forest on a mountain top. Detailed trail maps are sold at the WCML Visitor Center or can be purchased prior to your visit by contacting http://www.dxhiker.com/mountain-lake.htm. Bikes are available for rent through the Recreation Department at Mountain Lake.

After a long hike or some adventurous mountain biking, cool off with a swim in the lake or wind down on the beach. To help explore the lake, fishing poles, canoes and paddle boats are available for daily rentals for a nominal fee.

Throughout the property you will find perfect little respite spots to just sit, relax, soak in the natural beauty, and free you mind of whatever stresses you.

Please visit us at the WCML Visitor Center located at the end of the Lakeview Building during your visit. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have, offer suggestions on trails/hikes and talk about our ecosystem!

If you are interested in learning more about the Recreational Department and the services available through The Mountain Lake Hotel (tennis, swimming pool, etc.), please visit www.mountainlakehotel.com.
